The following documents are required to record a change of name/address in the Registry:
- request form;
- documentary evidence for change of name, i.e, a document approved by the competent authorities showing the change of name and its Turkish translation approved by a sworn translator if the document is in a foreign language;
- no documentary evidence is required to record a change of address.
A Power of Attorney (POA) is not required for recording a change of name/address.
Once a change of name/address has been filed, it will take approximately 1-2 months to process it.
The Registry of the name/address changes is applied to all industrial property rights/applications registered in the name of the right owner.
If the change of ownership is due to an assignment, the following documents are required:
- request form;
- the assignment agreement, which includes the design/patent/trademark application/registration number that is the subject of the transfer, and is signed by both the assignor and the assignee;
- if the transfer agreement is in a foreign language, its Turkish translation approved by a sworn translator;
- payment receipt of the official fee;
