Duygu is a chemist and before cofounding VALITRA, she had been practicing in IP sector since 2010.
She has studied chemistry at Istanbul Technical University. At the beginning her main focus was on scale inhibiting polymeric materials and after that she switched to working with oxazoline type compounds. She has worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Organic Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science. Meanwhile she acquired expertise in polymer chemistry, organic chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry. She also possesses significant knowledge about molecular biology and biotechnology.
She started her IP career in Biofarma Pharmaceuticals. Working as a patent specialist, her responsibility included drafting patents, conducting prior art searches and freedom to operate analysis, and tracking patent infringements. During her time in the company, she also gained in-depth experience related to pharmaceutical trademarks.
After leaving Biofarma Pharmaceuticals, Duygu continued working in IP business both as a freelance and in-house patent translator and proofreader. She also gained experience about patent validation procedures. She is a sworn translator since 2017.
